Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Friday (Jan 5) took a jibe on Anupam Kher starrer film-The Accidental Prime Minister, the leader said he considers Manmohan Singh a successful PM, not an accidental one.
“If a Prime Minister governs the country for 10 years and the people respect him, I don’t see him as an accidental prime minister. After Narasimha Rao, if the country has got a successful prime minister, he is Manmohan Singh,” said Raut.
Shiv Sena is an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
The trailer of Anupam Kher starrer ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, which recently came out, drew a lot of criticism from the Congress party, and is still in controversy.
The supporters of the grand old party are criticizing the film ever since its trailer released last month.
Congress supporters have claimed that film makes fun of the party President Rahul Gandhi and also alleged that it will create bad impact on Gandhi’s image.
Earlier Satyajeet Tambe Patil, president of the Maharashtra State Youth Congress, had sent a letter to the producer of the film demanding a special screening before it is released. He had raised objections to “incorrect presentation of the facts” in the film.
Moreover, in the latest happenings, a petition has been filed in a Bihar court against actors Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna- who’re playing former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his media adviser Sanjaya Baru, respectively, in the film.
The movie is scheduled to hit the theatres on January 11.
