The much anticipated movie of Marvel Collection: Avengers Endgame opened enormously with a record Rs 1,186 crore earnings worldwide. The film also beat Star Wars: The Force Awakens for preview record with Rs 419 crore in Thursday evening US previews this week.
While the film is being screened in 46 international markets, including India, Avengers Endgame has set a new record by earning Rs 747 crore from 608 screens in China, a record that surpasses the collection of Avengers: Infinity War.
As of now, Infinity War is the 11th-highest-grossing title of all time and the third top grossing import film in China. Endgame’s grand predecessor had its biggest debut of all time in China with a $191 million three-day opening weekend.
Avengers Endgame opened to a staggering Rs 104 crore in US, setting a benchmark for first day collections.
Created from a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the last film in the Avengers saga, Endgame is a follow-up to the events of Infinity War, which ended with Thanos obliterating half of all life in the universe with a snap of his finger.
Endgame also fell prey to piracy as a camera print of the film was leaked by Tamilrockers within a few hours of its release. While the directors issued an open letter to fans urging them to not reveal spoilers, Marvel Studio head Kevin Feige had expressed his disappointment on the subject. “I wasn’t pleased. It’s not cool. It’s not fun. But the response was what I expected, which was everybody turning it off, dismissing it, ‘Don’t watch it, don’t spoil it for anybody else,’” Feige told The Associated Press.
The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The star-studded cast includes Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Josh Brolin as Thanos, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie.
Enhancing the cine-enthusiasts excitement Google has joined the Avengers: Endgame frenzy with a pretty cool trick.
If you search ‘Thanos’ on Google and click on his Infinity Stone-studded gauntlet, you will see search results wiped out with ‘snap of a finger’. Even the search results counter goes down, precisely to half while the page automatically moves up and down.
To undo Thanos’ destruction, simply click on the gauntlet again. You will see Thanos using the Time Stone to restore the search results. It’d been pretty cool if the gauntlet was capable of summoning other Infinity Stones as well.
Google’s new Easter egg works on select browsers, including its own Google Chrome. The feature also works on the desktop version of Chrome.
It’s not the first time Google has slipped such Easter egg within its search results. For instance, you can simply search ‘do a barrel roll’ to see the entire web page flipping in 360-degrees. Similarly, you can search ‘askew’ to have the slanted web layout. Video game fans can search for ‘zerg rush’. Some of the popular Google search Easter eggs are ‘recursion’, ‘anagram’ and ‘once in a blue moon’.
