Prime Minister, Home Minister express grief
Atleast sixteen Amarnath pilgrims were killed and dozens injured when a bus carrying them fell into a gorge in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
“A yatra bus carrying around 40 passengers skidded off the Jammu and Kashmir national highway and rolled down into a deep nullah in Raban district of Jammu and Kashmir” an official said.
Rescue operations are currently underway and 19 injured are being airlifted for treatment.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow in one of his tweet post.

Minister of Home Affairs Rajnath Singh wrote a series of tweets on the accident;

The incident comes almost a week after eight Amarnath pilgrims were killed and dozens were wounded in a militant attack in Anantnag district.
The 40-day Amarnath yatra started on June 29 and will culminate on August 7.
