Thenhippalam police have registered a case against a 36-year old woman for raping 9- year old boy for around 12 months.
Times of India (TOI) reported the incidence came to light last week after the boy narrated his ordeal to a local doctor.
Meanwhile, the doctor of the local clinic then alerted the childline and recorded his statement. The complaint was then forwarded to the police authorities.
A case has been registered against the woman under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) that deals with aggravated penetrative sexual assault.
Childline (Malappuram) coordinator Anwar Karakkadan stated that “We have confirmed that the boy was sexually misused by the woman for several months, and it has affected his mental health. The accused is the boy’s uncle’s wife and she lives near his house.”
“The case was registered based on the statement given to Childline and more details could be revealed only later. We have learnt that there was a dispute between the family of the survivor and accused,” said Thenhippalam sub-inspector Binu Thomas.
The Times of India (TOI) report claimed that the Thomas mentioned that there was a dispute between the family of the survivor and the accused. They have to check whether the allegation is linked to the dispute.
