Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh yadav, BSP chief Mayawati and Rashtriya Lok Dal supremo Ajit Singh today (Sunday, April 7) addressed a rally together ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, where they targeted not only the BJP but Congress as well.
Akhilesh Yadav was addressing a first joint rally with his alliance partners Mayawati and RLD’s Ajit Singh in Deoband, where he said, “You must have heard their leaders come and speak here. All they had to talk about was hatred. They don’t want to talk about promises. In 2014, we were asked to trust a chaiwala. He promised Rs 15 lakh in every account, crores of jobs etc. Now we are being asked to trust the chowkidar. One-by-one, we will remove all the chowkidars from their chowkis.”
Speaking about the policies of the BJP government at the Centre, Akhilesh said unemployment had become a serious issue across the country.
“They have brought ‘bure din’ instead of ‘achhe din’. There are no jobs, sugarcane dues are pending and the GST tax regime has destroyed small businesses in the state. BJP leaders have divided more people than the British,” he said.
While addressing the people, Mayawati said, “The Congress is not strong enough to give a tough fight to BJP… only grand alliance can fight the BJP.” She was particularly referring to the people of ‘Muslim Community.’
Criticising Congress’s NYAY scheme, Mayawati said, “Instead of six thousand rupees, we promise jobs in government and private sector,” she said. “The BJP will lose this election because of policies inspired by hatred.., especially their “chowkidar” campaign… no matter how much the chhote, bade chowkidars (small or big) try the BJP will not win.”
Slamming the BJP government, RLD Chief Ajit Singh said, “Ache din aa gaye…Modi ke ache din aa gaye. Bhagwan hum sab ko Modi jaisa fakir bana de.”
“The BJP is anti-farmer. Farming is not a matter of profit. Takht badal do Taj badal do, in ‘Jhooto ki Sarkar’ badal do,” the RLD chief added.
