Aamir Khan tests positive for Covid-19, quarantines himself at home

The actor is currently shooting for his upcoming movie Laal Singh Chaddha, an official remake of Tom Hanks-starrer Forrest Gump.

Amid the rising Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, Aamir Khan is the latest Bollywood actor to have contracted the coronavirus infection.The actor has home quarantined himself and is taking all the necessary precautions.

The spokesperson of the actor confirmed the news. He said, Aamir Khan has tested positive for Covid 19. He is at home in self quarantine, following all the protocols and he’s doing fine. All those who came in contact with him in the recent past should get themselves tested as a precautionary measure. Thank you for all your wishes and concern.

The actor was last snapped at the screening of the film Koi Jaane Na in Mumbai. He also features in a dance number along with Elli Evram in the movie, which is the directorial debut of his friend Amin Hajee. 

Recently, the 56-year-old actor has announced his exit from social media. On his Twitter and Instagram, both of which have been deleted now, he wrote, Hey guys, thank you so much for all the love and warmth on my birthday. My heart is full. In another news, this is going to be my last post on social media. Considering that I am so active anyway, I have decided to drop the pretence. We will continue to communicate as we did before. Lots of love, always.

The actor is currently shooting for his upcoming movie Laal Singh Chaddha, an official remake of Tom Hanks-starrer Forrest Gump. The film also features Kareena Kapoor Khan and is expected to release on Christmas 2021.

Meanwhile, among other Bollywood actors, Ranbir Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sidhhant Chaturvedi, Tara Sutaria were tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this month.

In view of the recent surge in the number of coronavirus cases, the state government has also put a ban on Holi revelry, with the BMC banning all private (inside housing societies) and public Holi celebrations on Holika Dahan and Rang Panchami.
