Aamir Khan, yes, BJP MP says actor responsible for population imbalance in India

Hours after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled new population policy on the occasion of World Population Day, a BJP MP from Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur stirred a controversy claiming that the people like Bollywood actor Aamir Khan are behind the population imbalance.

Speaking to the reporters on the occasion of World Population Day, Sudhir Gupta, who is known for his bizarre remarks, took a dig at actor Aamir Khan who recently separated from his second wife Kiran Rao. He said that Aamir left his first wife Reena Dutta with two children, Kiran Rao with one child and now, at the age of becoming grandfather, he is looking for a third wife.

Expressing concern over the growing population of India, the BJP MP said the country hasn’t seen an inch of land getting increased while the population of the country has touched 140 crore mark which is not good news.

During the partition, Pakistan got vast portion of the land but comparatively lesser population and that too had forced large chunk of the population back into India without partaking any land in lieu if the same, Gupta said.

Earlier on July 3, Aamir and Kiran had announced to end their 15 years old marriage and welcomed their son Azad Rao Khan in 2011 through surrogacy.

The actor was earlier married to Reena Dutta. Together, the couple has two kids – a son named Junaid and a daughter, Ira.

Aamir and Kiran, who had been an assistant director to Ashutosh Gowariker on the set of Lagaan, got married in 2005.

Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao have been vocal about several political issues and in 2015, had raised their voice against the growing intolerance in India. Following which, not only did he draw flak from political parties but he was also trolled on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms.
