Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh on Tuesday, December 7 has demanded the withdrawal of Kangana Ranaut’s Padma Shri in Rajya Sabha. His demand comes in the wake of the actor’s controversial remarks regarding India’s independence.
In a letter to Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, the MP said that a Padma Shri awardee made anti-national remarks and has insulted every Indian. Such remarks are intended to insult the freedom fighters and their struggles for years.
He further said that no one has the right to hurt the sentiments of the countrymen and demanded that Kangana’s Padma Shri should be withdrawn so that dignity of the honour could be saved.

Taking it to Twitter, AAP’s Sanjay Singh shared the official letter and tweeted that he has given a 267 notice in the Rajya Sabha regarding Kangana Ranaut who called India’s independence bheekh and insulted immortal martyrs.

Addressing at a media summit, the Queen actor had claimed that Mahatma Gandhi never supported Bhagat Singh or Subhas Chandra Bose.
