Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday morning performed the Bhoomi Poojan at the of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase-II and Surat Metro Rail Project through video conferencing.
During the ceremony, PM Modi said Ahmedabad and Surat are receiving very important gifts today. Metro will further strengthen the connectivity between the two major business centres of the country. PM Modi in his tweet about the bhumi pujan said that today is a landmark day for two of Gujarat’s leading urban centres. During the ceremony, Prime Minister said that Surat and Ahmedabad are receiving very important gifts today. Metro will further strengthen the connectivity between the two major business centres of the country and with the help of the metro Surat’s business opportunities are likely to grow, PM Modi added.
Talking about the investments PM Modi said that what was done today will enhance the lives of countrymen in the times to come. This would also grow the business opportunities.
Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were also present on the occasion.
As per an official release, the Metro Projects will provide an environment friendly ‘Mass Rapid Transit System’ to Surat and Ahmedabad. 28.25 kilometeres Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase-II is consist of two corridors. Corridor-1, which is 22.8 Kilometres long is from Motera Stadium to Mahatma Mandir. Corridor-2 is 5.4 Kilometres long and is from GNLU to GIFT City.
Surat Metro Rail Project is 40.35 Kilometres long and comprises two corridors. Corridor-1 is 21.61 Kilometres long and is from Sarthana to Dream City.
