After its launch in Vietnam, Realme 5i is now launched in India boasting a quad rear-camera setup.
In one of the first smartphone launches’ of 2020 the phone was unveiled on 9th January and it will carry a price tag of Rs 8,999 for the 4 GB RAM /64 GB storage variant.
Unlike Vietnam where the price for the 3GB RAM/ 32 GB variant was approximately Rs 11,500 and Rs 13,500 for the 4 GB/64 GB variant, the phone was launched at a lower price in India.
With a 6.52 inch display, the phone has a 89% screen-to-body ratio and a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The new device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor and runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) out of the box. In the low-cost segment, it is expected to be one of the zippiest smartphones available.
It is packed with a 5000 mAh battery and comes with a Type-C 10W charger.
Like its flagship Realme 5, it is one of the few smartphones in the budget category to boast four cameras at the back.
As for the quad cameras on the rear of Realme 5i, the primary lens is 12 megapixels(MP) with f/1.8 aperture and it is assisted by 8MP wide-angle lens, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro lens.
The rear cameras have auto-focus and can shoot videos in 4k@30 fps and it has a super night mode for photography under low-light conditions.
The front facing camera is 8MP and it supports video shooting at 1080p@30fps.
As for security, it has a face-unlock option which uses the front-facing camera and also has a fingerprint scanner is mounted on the rear.
Dimensions of the phone are 164.4 x 75 x 9.3 mm and it weighs 195 grams.
It supports LTE on both Nano SIM cards and it has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, USB Type-C connectivity option.
The phone is available in blue and green color variants.
