Voice assistant speakers such as Alexa and Google Assistant are now dominating the smart home market. The reason being is the voice control, wherein the most seamless way you can make all of your smart home gadgets play well and function together. With just a single command, the coffeemaker will start in the kitchen, the lights will turn on, the window blinds will rise, the TV will turn on, and the dog will have food in his dish, all before you even get out of bed.
Alexa is your go-to for listening to your favourite songs and playlists. Recently, Amazon has updated Alexa to allow users to transfer their favourite music tracks, radio shows, or podcast episodes between multiple Echo devices. You may also ask Alexa to pause a song on one Echo device and restart it on another with the new version.
Echo speakers, Echo Buds truly wireless stereo (TWS) headphones, and Echo Auto hands-free in-car system all have the ability to transport music, radio, and podcasts. Alexa has recently been upgraded to allow Fire TV customers to watch TikTok videos.
How to move music across multiple devices via Alexa?
To transfer audio across Echo devices, say “Alexa, pause” on the first device and then “Alexa, resume music here” on the second device. You can also say “Alexa, resume radio here” to move your radio track”, or “Alexa, resume podcast here” for moving your podcast playback”.
You can also say “Alexa, move my music to the kitchen.” “Alexa, transfer my music to the kitchen,” for example. This will let you transfer your favourite music from your bedroom or living area to other areas, like the kitchen.
If you’re switching from an Echo speaker to Echo Buds, you may ask Alexa to relocate your music here by connecting them to your phone and saying, “Alexa, move my music here.” You may also say “Alexa, pause” to pause your music on your Echo device at home, and then “Alexa, resume music” to restart your music when using Echo Auto in your car.
Amazon has not yet said when third-party Alexa devices would be able to use the moving audio capability.
Google Assistant now allows you to transfer music between multiple Google Nest (formerly Google Home) devices in 2019. The option to shift audio from one compatible speaker to another is also accessible in Apple’s Siri.
