Amit Sadh opens up on 4 suicide attempts, says it took 20 years to overcome

Actor Amit Sadh who was recently seen in Amazon Prime’s web series Breathe: Into The Shadows and Zee 5’s Yaara has opened up about his depressing days. The actor said he had tried committing suicide four times.

While talking to MensXP on International Men’s Day, Sadh opened up about the times when he tried to end his life between the age of 16-18. It took him about 20 years to get over it. The actor said between the age of 16 and 18, he tried committing suicide four times. He didn’t have suicidal thoughts. He just went to commit suicide, there was no planning, he added.

The Kai Po Che actor said he just woke up one day and tried again and again, but the fourth time he tried, he realized this is not the way and this is not the ending. And things changed. His mindset changed. And since then, it has evolved and the philosophy of never giving up came in him, the actor added.The actor said there must be so many people who commit suicide but there are so many more people who contemplate or have thoughts about committing suicide on some dark day. But for him, coming out of it was the mark of strength.

Sadh said it took him 20 years to overcome this. He said he has a lot of compassion, love and empathy for people who become weak.

Amit Sadh had made his debut in Bollywood opposite late  actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Rajkumar Rao in Kai Po Che. The movie was a hit and gave a big boost to their respective careers.
