Abhishek and Aishwarya starrer Guru clocks 14 years, Big B says his son was marvellous in film

As Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Guru clocked 14 years on Tuesday, a proud father and megastar Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to praise the film and his son.

Big B shared a fan-made montage video of the film and penned praise for the film and his son Abhishek. He wrote, yes indeed a fantastic film and Abhishek was marvellous, followed by heart emoticons.

The remark came after a fan page on Twitter by the name of Thugs of Amitabh Bachchan posted a video clip featuring stills from the film. The fan also heaped praises on Big B and Abhishek and the film. 

After seeing Big B’s appreciation for Abhishek, several fans also took to the comments and lauded Abhishek and Aishwarya’s performance in the film. 

The Mani Ratnam directorial that featured Abhishek and Aishwarya, was critically acclaimed and received well at the box-office. Infact, it emerged as one of the most successful movies of Bachchan’s career.

Last year in April, Abhishek had shared several interesting trivia from his 2007 films with fans and cinegoers. The actor played the lead role of Gurukant Desai in the film. While Aishwarya played his wife in the film. Through the social post, Abhishek also shared anecdotes related to the film along with pictures from the film’s set.

The film was based on the life of business tycoon late Dhirubhai Ambani. The film also starred Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, R Madhavan and Mallika Sherawat. 

Since Guru, Abhishek and Aishwarya have not shared screen space together for any film, although the fans have been wanting them to see them together again. However, the couple’s film Guru is among their best works and had won several awards back in the days.

On the work front, Abhishek has recently wrapped the Kolkata schedule of his next project Bob Biswas, directed by Diya Annapurna Ghosh. The crime thriller is said to be a spin-off of Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani. The film also features Chitrangada Singh.
