The Balaji Foundation since its inception is primarily devoted to the cause of dissemination of qualitative education to the rural/urban masses, illiterate adult, working Professional and the persons of weaker section of the society.

It is established in Noida and dedicated towards the promotion of career oriented education for the populace, brings the multifaceted Media and Entertainment industry under one roof. This training school has been launched with a wish of chasing an audacious dream.

The courses balance the study of the art form with practical experience, in order to train students to be the best journalists they can be. The subject is taught through a balance of classroom instruction, hands-on workshop, and immediate experience. Indeed, from day one, students are going to shoots, anchoring the programmers, news bulletins, exercising on desk or behind the camera. We believe in learning by doing.

Board of Governors

Ms. Rajshri Rai, co-founded E N Communication Pvt Ltd. and serves as its Managing Director. Ms. Rai worked for over 17 years in journalism. Starting with her first assignment at Hindustan Times she moved to NDTV as reporter, producer and anchor, virtually becoming the face of the channel. She joined Sahara in the year 2000 as correspondent. She is perhaps the only mainstream television entrepreneur who has produced shows on development and specialized subjects like law, legal aid and awareness and rural India. She has given the Indian readers India’s first Legal news magazine, INDIA LEGAL and established one of the most trusted news channel in the country, APN News.

Ms. Rai’s contribution to Indian journalism has earned her several honors, awards and accolades and she has also written several papers on media industry and has spoken in seminars in India and abroad. The Indian Bar Association has ranked her among the top 50 personalities in India. She was also the advisor for Former President of India, MrsPratibhaDevisinghPatil& contributed a critical role in strengthening the relations between India and UAE, for which, she was honored by the UAE Govt during 2010.

Inderjit Badhwar

Inderjit Badhwar worked for more than two decades in the United States, where his work was published in leading magazines and newspapers such as the Washington Post. He was also associated with ABC TV. In India, he has headed the India Today editorial team for more than 10 years, beside being an Executive Producer of TV Today and anchor to the popular weekly news magazine show Newstrack. He was also head of Sahara TV network and in the year 2000 he became the Editor-in-Chief of Media TransAsia, which published niche publications like Swagat and Discover India. His 2004 novel, The Chamber of Perfumes (originally titled Sniffing Papa) won France’s most prestigious international award as the “Best Foreign Debut Novel”, an honour that went earlier to Salman Rushdie for “Shame”.

Dilip Bobb

Dilip Bobb is a veteran journalist and political commentator. He is former Executive Editor of Outlook magazine and former Managing Editor of India Today. He has also been a columnist with the Indian Express. He has authored the book “The Great Betrayal”, and co-authored “Delhi-Then and Now” (with Narayani Gupta). He is presently Senior Managing Editor with India Legal magazine.

 

P K Malhotra

P K Malhotra has more than forty years ‘experience in the field of law in various capacities out of which, he has worked in the Ministry of Law & Justice for more than 25 years as an officer of Indian Legal Service and reached the Apex level of Union Law Secretary. He was responsible for processing and finalizing many important legislations including Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013, Constitution Amendments relating to National Judicial Appointment Commission, Companies Act, 2013, Representation of People’s (Amendment) Bill, Commercial Courts Act, 2015, Arbitration & Conciliation (Amendment) Act, 2015, Insolvency And Bankruptcy Code, 2016, Constitution Amendment relating to GST, Securities Law (Amendment) Act, Consumer Protection (Amendment) Bill and many other important legislation. As Secretary in the Legislative Department he was dealing with all matters relating to election laws including references received from the Election Commission of India and litigation matters relating to election laws.

R S Chauhan

A result oriented professional with 41 years experience in film & broadcast media covering programming, production, on-air look and feel and graphics. He was associated with Sahara India Media and Entertainment, Noida, as advisor of broadcasting operations and engineering. He is a keen planner with the flair for implementing innovative strategies for accelerated growth of the business with skills to remain on the cutting edge, drive new business through conceptualizing strategies, augmenting and streamlining networks. He has great expertise in executing projects from concept-to-launch with focus on project scope and rendering end-to-end solutions.

Prof. (Dr) B.R. Gupta

Media Advisor ENC Group Former: O.S.D., Banaras Hindu University,  Prof & HOD, Journalism & Mass Com  B.H.U, Sagar Univ. & Jabalpur Univ. Editorial & Advisor: Times group, Dainik Bhaskar Group of News Papers & Dainik Aaj. Vinay Rai

Law graduate Vinay Rai has been in the electronic media for over 16 years executing a host of jobs that include reporting and production. He has worked for leading media houses like Zee among many others. He was the editor of Akbari, an Urdu publication. As director at E.N. Communications, he heads the television operations at APN. A creative thinker, problem solving techniques and decision maker who effectively balances the needs of the employees with the mission. Vinay earned an additional professional qualification in journalism and mass communications from Lucknow University.

Hostel for girls and boys with spacious and well furnished rooms, homely atmosphere with necessary discipline.

Mess

Fresh cooked meals with proper hygiene are available to the hostel students. Whereas the cafeteria is open to all the students for tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks.

It is primarily targeted towards the cable homes of the Nepalese community in North Bengal, Sikkim and North Eastern States in India, the whole of Nepal, Burma, and Malaysia, right up to Hong Kong. There are approx. four lakh cable homes in Nepal, out of a total seven-lakh TV homes. NEPAL1 is positioned as an infotainment Channel.

RULES AND REGULATION

  1. Students should be regular in attending their classes and 75% attendance is must to be eligible for appearing in the examination.
  2. Prescribed course fee should be paid within the scheduled dates. Course fee once paid is neither transferable nor refundable under any circumstances.
  3. Students have to participate in all production exercises including article writing for the campus newspaper which is an essential part of their course. These exercises will pay a major role at the time of issue of internship letter.
  4. Students are expected to behave in a dignified manner and maintain decency, decorum and most cordial relationship with fellow students, faculties, staff members and other at the Institute. Any deviation from or neglect of this desired conduct will attract discrepancy action including debarring from examination or expulsion from the institute. Student should in no circumstances take law in their own hands/ indulge in violence of any type within the college compound.
  5. Smoking and drinking within the premises are strictly prohibited. Drinking, even if outside the institute/hostel premises, if results in misconduct will attract strict penalty.
  6. Inviting an outsider within the Institute premises for purposes whatsoever without the prior permission of the management is strictly prohibited.
  7. Habitual absence, late coming, using mobile phones in classrooms/ library/ study area/ and management office shall lead to heavy penalties.
  8. The management reserve all right to postpone or reschedule any of the cleasses/ courses due to unforeseen circumstances.
  9. Students are advised to check all important notices/ information, display on the notice boards on a regular basis and also keep their parents/ guardians informed of these, particularly those related to short attendance, disciplinary actions, payments of fee, etc. the college will not be responsible for information gaps between students and their guardian/ parents.
  10. Hostel inmates should strictly follow the hostel rules and regulation, otherwise they may be asked to vacate hostel accommodation anytime.
  11. Decision of the management shall be final in all matters. All disputes are subjected to Delhi Jurisdiction only.
