Diabetic? Try out these therapeutic beverages

When it comes to a diabetic person, it is of utmost importance to take care of what you consume to keep your sugar levels in control. What you drink is as crucial as what you eat. A single beverage can increase your blood sugar levels to another extent which might risk your health.

So, beverages with zero or low calories are the best way to quench your thirst. However, one should always keep in mind that options for low-sugar drinks like vegetable juice should be consumed in moderation. 

We have listed down some therapeutic beverages for diabetics:

Methi Water

As per studies, a daily dose of 19 grams of methi seeds soaked in hot water helps to control type-2 diabetes. The beverage has fiber in it which slows down the digestion process and regulates crabs and sugar levels.

Vegetable juice 

While drinking 100 percent fruit juice can increase the levels of blood sugar because it consists of sugar but you can replace it with vegetable juice. These juices have sugar-free ingredients in them which will work wonders to control your sugar levels.


It is believed that green tea has a positive effect on our health, especially people with diabetes. Well, more than a half-million people just go for green tea because it not only controls diabetes but also helps in weight loss. 

Unsweetened coffee 

Drinking coffee might help to control type 2 diabetes by moderating the levels of sugar. But as tea, your coffee should also remain unsweetened else it would risk your health. So your coffee should be without any carbohydrates. 

Herbal tea 

There are many varieties of herbal tea like chamomile, ginger, peppermint, and others that are said to have low calories or carbohydrates. It creates an antibacterial body and controls blood sugar levels and boosts our immunity.
