The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has summoned Bollywood star Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash in connection with the drugs angle probe into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. KWAN Agency CEO Dhruv Chitgopekar has also been summoned. Reports said the NCB, which is investigating, what, it says, is the, widespread consumption of drugs in Bollywood, is likely to summon Padukone too.
Reports said the NCB has zeroed in on some 20-odd A-list actors upon the recovery of Rajput’s former talent manager Jaya Saha’s WhatsApp chats with a few big names from 2017. Reports said two names, D and K, are said to be Deepika and her manager Karishma and D is said to be asking for hash from K and they were to meet for pick it up. Saha had been questioned for over four hours yesterday. Padukone’s statement is expected soon.
Yesterday, reports said stars Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and Simone Khambatta will be summoned by NCB after they were named by actor Rhea Chakraborty during the investigation. The anti-drug agency has so far arrested more than a dozen persons, including Sushant’s girlfriend and actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, in the case. Rakul Preet Singh had last week moved the Delhi High Court seeking to stop media reports from connecting her with the Rhea Chakraborty drug case.
The Special NDPS Court in Mumbai on Tuesday extended Chakraborty’s judicial custody till October 6. The actor had been arrested on September 9 and had been sent to judicial custody. The actor and her brother filed a bail plea again on Tuesday in the Bombay High Court.
