CSK fans angry at Suresh Raina’s absence in playing XI against Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1, twitter flooded with highest run scorer’s IPL stats

Everyone was surprised over the Chennai Super Kings decision to drop Suresh Raina from playing XI in the first Qualifier of the ongoing IPL 2021 against Delhi Capitals on Sunday at Dubai International Stadium.

It was the first time when CSK had competing in the playoffs without Raina, despite his presence in the squad.

However, the CSK have decided to carry on with an unchanged playing XI against Delhi Capitals who have made a solitary change to their Playing XI by bringing in fast bowler Tom Curran for all-rounder Ripal Patel.

The CSK have won the toss and opted to bowl first in the first qualifier of the IPL 2021 against Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals.

At the toss, skipper MS Dhoni confirmed that CSK is going unchanged from their previous fixture where Robin Uthappa played ahead of Suresh Raina.

Fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment over CSK’s decision to drop its all-time top scorer in the knockout stages of IPL 2021.

The CSK fans have lost their calm when they observed Raina’s absence in the field and their anger was pretty evident on social media during and after the match. However, the reason behind Raina’s dropping in Qualifier 1 is yet unknown.

“It’s hurting more than anything No Raina,” a user wrote on Twitter.

The CSK fans had been sharing the stats highlighting how Raina was way ahead of other CSK players in playoffs and in the IPL.

Raina, who last played against Rajasthan Royals and scored just 3 runs off 5 deliveries, has been struggling with its poor form in the second leg of IPL 2021. Since then, he has been benched and this was the third game in a row that he missed out.

The CSK have entered the IPL 2021 final after defeating Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1 on Sunday and will be played the final on October 15.
