Actor Deepika Padukone has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus. The actor is currently in Bengaluru with her family. Her father Prakash Padukone, mother Ujjala and sister Anisha have also tested positive for the virus.
While there is no official confirmation and updates on behalf of the actor, she was reportedly tested positive on Tuesday. The International Indian Film Academy Awards, meanwhile, has shared the news. #DeepikaPadukone has tested positive for Covid-19. Get well soon, Deepika!, said a tweet on @IIFA.
Earlier in the day, Deepika’s father and ace badminton player Prakash Padukone, had to be admitted to a hospital after he experienced prolonged fever. He is currently under treatment for coronavirus and is recuperating.
Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive, said Vimal Kumar, director at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy.
Recently, the Chhappak actress was snapped with her husband Ranveer Singh at the Mumbai airport when the duo were flying out to Bengaluru to spend some time with Padukone’s family.
Besides her, , several celebrities including Indian cricketers have contracted the virus. India is currently struggling with an unprecedented Covid-19 case and has been recording over 3 lakh positive cases each day for the last couple of weeks.
On the professional front, Deepika has a host of films lined up. She will be next seen with husband Ranveer Singh in 83. She has wrapped up the shooting of Shakun Batra’s yet-to-be-titled film co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Pandey.
Deepika will also be seen alongside Shah Rukh Khan in an upcoming film titled Pathan. The actor also has Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and an untitled project with Prabhas in pipeline. In addition,she will reunite with Amitabh Bachchan for the Indian adaptation of The Intern.
