Deepika Padukone changed her name to Tara, the character name from Tamasha on her social media handle as film completed five years of release today. Directed by Imitiaz Ali, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika in lead roles.
As Tamasha clocked five years, not just changing the name, Padukone changed her display picture to a photo of herself with Kapoor on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. She also shared a few fan arts on the occasion.
In the film, Ranbir as storyteller Ved falls for a girl named Tara played by Deepika.The story revolves around the character of Ranbir whose dream of becoming a writer was suppressed when he was a child. He lived a dual life as a bullied employee working in a multinational company on one hand, and on the other, he led a confident man who enjoys holidays. Ved instantly falls in love with Tara on a holiday in Corsica. However, years later Tara finds out that he is not the same person she had met before.
The romantic drama was released in 2015. The film made headlines before its release as both the actors were in a relationship. The film was shot after their break-up, therefore it became a much-awaited release of the year.
The actors began dating in 2007, their love blossomed on the sets of their film Bachna Ae Haseeno. The rosy picture ended quite soon.when Deepika caught Ranbir cheating on her with Katrina Kaif, according to reports. Despite it, the actors have remained cordial. Apart from Tamasha, they also appeared together in an advertisement and have met on several occasions after break-up.
Meanwhile, the film produced by Sajid Nadiadwala was lauded by the film critics for the way it was shot. The chemistry between Kapoor and Padukone was a banger on screen, even the songs by A R Rehman have become popular too. However, the movie received a lukewarm response at the box office.
