In a major accident, the roof of a school in Bai village of Gannaur tehsil of Sonepat collapsed on Thursday. At least 25 students have suffered serious injuries in this accident. The the injured were rushed to Ganaur Community Hospital and are undergoing treatment. However, five students are in critical condition and have been referred to PGI in Khanpur, reports said.
The accident took place in Gannaur, Sonepat, where the roof of the Jivanand Public School located on the left road suddenly collapsed. In this incident, along with about 25 students, three laborers have also been seriously injured.
Ganaur Police reached the spot as soon as the news of the accident was received. The police team has started investigation into this accident.
Reports said the school roof was undergoing renovation as it had become dilapidated due to rain. Despite under construction, the school management made students to sit in the class. However, the roof collapsed and injured the students along with three labourers working on it.
No casualty has been reported till now. The district administration has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
