After introducing the smaller capacity Rebel 300 and 500 models a few years ago, Honda is expanding its cruiser line-up for 2021. Honda is all set to launch one of its high-performance bikes, Rebel 1100, in India in mid-2021. The Japanese bike maker has already teased the motorcycle enthusiasts with its first look on their website on Thursday.
The company is expected to launch the bike in India at a starting price of Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). The company is yet to make an official announcement on pricing and launch date in India yet.
Reports said Honda Rebel 1100 will come to India in a retro-inspired design. The bike is expected to come in two colours, Metallic Black and Bordeaux Red with round headlamps, round mirrors, teardrop-shaped fuel tank and black alloy wheels. The bike will also come with a host of accessories, including saddlebags. Honda has avoided using chrome finishing on the bike.
The Honda Rebel 1100 will have disc brakes on both sides front as well as at the back wheel. The motorbike has features like ABS, traction control, cruise control and four riding modes: Standard, Rain, Sport, and a user configurable mode for better handling.
The interesting fact about Rebel 1100 is that it is powered by Honda Africa Twin’s CFR1100L engine which makes it standout among others. According to Honda, Rebel 1100 is an exciting bike and gives a smooth riding experience to riders.
The company is giving a 1,084 cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine, using the Unicom design for a compact cylinder-head layout. The engine gets different camshaft profiles and ignition timing for each of the two cylinders. As a result, one cylinder produces slightly more power below 4,000 rpm while the other more above 4,000 rpm.
