Hyderabad software engineer stabbed by her stalker for rejecting his proposal

State BJP chief and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay reportedly visited the hospital to meet the victim and her family.

A 29-year-old software engineer was stabbed with a knife on Tuesday night by an alleged stalker in Hyderabad. 

The accused is identified as Shahrukh from Haryana, who was reportedly known to the woman for the last two years. The woman had reportedly rejected his proposal, said VC Sajjanar, Cyberabad Police Commissioner.

The incident took place at Laxmi Nagar Colony under Narsingi police station, when the accused called the woman out of her house to discuss the matter. The accused allegedly scaled the wall of the apartment complex and entered the woman’s flat and attacked her. 

The man, who worked as a hairdresser, attacked the woman around 8 pm near the victim’s house, police said.

The woman’s family alleged that he had been harassing the girl to force her into a relationship. She had filed a police complaint against the man about harassment last week.

In a mobile video, the woman is seen injured on her abdomen and chest lying unconscious while her parents held her as they waited for medical help. Grievously injured, the woman was taken to a private hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment.

The locals, meanwhile, caught the stalker who was trying to escape and handed him over to the police. The police formed teams and arrested the accused. A case has been booked against him and probe is underway.
