Include these three foods in your diet if you are planning to turn vegetarian

India is famous for its vegetarianism–back in time and even now, there is a huge population that rely on plant-based and dairy foods. However, the number of people who eat meat based foods is very huge, yet many feel to turn vegetarian due to health concerns, parental issues, or thought for animals and their rights.

It is scientifically proven that a plant based diet helps to reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes and even some types of cancer. Also, it is notable if you will not make the switch the right way, you can become deficient in some nutrients like protein, iron and Vitamin D.

Here are a few food items that are a powerful source of nutrients, you must include them in your vegetarian diet so that you don’t lack any nutrients.

#Almonds

Including a handful of almonds in your daily diet keeps you fit and healthy. They are super rich in Vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant to support the pulmonary immune function. Vitamin E also protects us against infections caused by bacteria and viruses.

#Green Leafy Vegetables

Green leafy vegetables are rich in nutrients and low in calories. You reduce the chance of obesity, blood pressure, mental decline and heart diseases. Spinach, lettuce and kale should be included in your daily meals to keep your nutrients high.

#Lentils

A bowl of hot dal with ghee tadka seems much satisfying. Indians love dals, and there is hardly any household that does not consume lentils on a regular basis. They are rich sources of soluble fiber and protein, also a rich source of iron and vitamin B.

Usually, people differentiate lentils based on their colours like red, green, brown, black or yellow. When you give up eating meat, it becomes very important to consume lentils.
