APN paid tribute to the martyrs
The Indian government has given a “free hand” to the army to counter Pakistan after two Indian soldiers were beheaded by its Border Action Team (BAT). Earlier defence minister Arun Jaitley had said that their “sacrifice will not go in vain”.
APN carried a detailed story during its show Office-Office on May 2. It was enriched with relevant visuals, quotes of defence minister Arun Jaitley and other prominent officials. The show paid tribute to the martyrs and extended support to their families.
According to a statement released by the defence ministry, the army has been given a “free hand” to respond to what the government termed as ”barbaric” and ”highly cowardly” act by Pakistan.
Naib Subedar Paramjit Singh of 22 Sikh Regiment and head constable Prem Sagar of 200 BSF Battalion, were killed on May 1 when the BAT infiltrated Indian borders as Pakistan opened fire on the patrolling Indian soldiers in the Krishna Ghati sector. Two other personnel were also injured.
Pakistan has violated ceasefire 65 times since January 2017. The Indian Army claims that Pakistan’s BAT team was involved in some of these attacks. According to sources, a BAT team of 5-6 personnel often includes terrorists and works alongside the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group.
