A Muslim man from Indore (MP) on Valentine’s Day married his beloved Jaya Singh Parmar, who is a transgender.
Love between Junaid and Jaya bloomed between the two last years and Junaid proposed her 15 days ago. The couple choose Valentine’s Day to get married.
Junaid’s family has not accepted his relationship but despite his parents’ disapproval he tied knot with the love of his life Jaya and promised to support her and stay with her. On the other hand, Jaya’s family supported the decision of their marriage.
“I want my family to accept us but even if they don’t, I will stay with her. I love her a lot and I will always keep her happy,” Junaid Khan told news agency ANI.
Junaid and Jaya tie knot with Hindu rituals in a temple on February 14, 2019 and they also plans to hold a ‘nikaah’ – following the traditions of Khans’s religious practice.
Jaya Singh Parmar said that getting married is a big challenge for a transgender person in India as the society finds it odd.
“His parents were against this marriage but he still chose to marry me. I hope they will accept me soon and one day I will get to serve my in-laws,” she said.
