Today’s Indian Premier League (IPL) clash will see two bottom placed teams — Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) taking on each other at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Both the teams need desperate wins in order to better their standings in the points’ table. While KXIP are sitting at the the bottom with only one win in their five matches so far, SRH are not in a great position either and have two wins and three losses from their five matches.
Punjab started their IPL campaign on a fantastic note with two back-to back wins. They, however, lost the track and went on to lose three matches on a trot. As for SRH, it was a completely different story. They lost their first two matches, bounced back and won the next two. However, they could not keep up the momentum and lost again in their last outing.
KXIP has a strong opening pair in the form of KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal who have both been stellar in the tournament so far. However, their bowling has been out of sorts which is a major concern for them. SRH, on the other hand, have a strong batting line-up comprising of Jonny Bairstow, David Warner, Manish Pandey and Kane Williamson who are capable of changing the complexion of the game at any moment. The team will try to exploit the weak bowling unit of KXIP. Hyderabad will strongly miss Bhuvaneshwar Kumar who was ruled out of the entire tournament due to a thigh injury.
