The Income Tax department on Wednesday conducted searches at properties of filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl, Madhu Mantena and actor Taapsee Pannu. The searches are being carried out at 22 locations in connection with Anurag Kashyap’s Phantom Films for tax evasion. The production house was dissolved in 2018. According to reports, the raids are on at property of a talent hunt company, KWAN as well. The company’s CEO was summoned in a probe linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
The production house Phantom Films was established by by Anurag Kashyap, director Vikramaditya Motwane, producer Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl in 2011. Reliance Entertainment procured 50 per cent stake in the company in March 2015. It was dissolved in October 2018 after sexual harassment charges were levied against Bahl. Bahl was later cleared of all charges by an internal complaints committee of Reliance Entertainment.
Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap are currently working on sci-fi film Dobaara, the shooting for which has begun. The film is being produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Cult Movies. The duo had earlier worked together in Manmarziyaan and the biographical drama Saand Ki Aankh
Director Anurag Kashyap recentlu made the announcement with a teaser and wrote: See what happens when you travel time across the dimensions of the universe. Filming begins soon.

In an interview, Pannu said she was looking forward to the experience as she has always enjoyed working on thrillers.
