The BCCI on Wednesday announced the 15-member Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 scheduled to begin from October 17 in the 4 venues of the United Arab Emirates.
The BCCI general secretary Jay Shah announced the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup on Wednesday. The way Jay Shah made the announcement in English, reminded many fans of their struggles for speaking English during school days.
The video of his announcement was shared from the BCCI and is now viral on social media.
Jay Shah, the son of Home Minister Amit Shah, has come under the target of social media users for his T20 World Cup team announcement in English, people are giving their reactions with a lot of fun.
While some people made fun of Shah’s English, others suggested that if he was not comfortable in English then why he should have made the announcement in Hindi.
Jay Shah is often slammed for getting the role at the world’s richest cricket board with the influence of his father.
Some people were also pissed with the fact that instead of chief selector Chetan Sharma, Shah announced the team.
Whenever the selectors announce the Indian squad for any ICC event, there were talks on who has picked, dropped or any budding talent got a chance in the 15-member squad. However, that wasn’t the case this time.
More than the players, everyone was talking about former India skipper MS Dhoni, who will be travelling Dubai with Team India as a mentor for the ICC men’s T2o World Cup.
The Chennai Super Kings skipper M.S. Dhoni has been named the mentor for the team during the course of the tournament. Dhoni-led India had won the trophy in its inaugural tournament in 2007.
Delighted India fans welcomed the decision with open arms and thanked the BCCI for making Dhoni, one of the most successful skippers to have led the country, a part of the squad once again.
