The examination of JEE was conducted in two shifts and the difficulty level of the examination varies. So, to take out the fair result, NTA started a normalisation procedure that is based on the percentile score.
According to the NTA procedure, the percentile score is calculated through this process– number of candidates that appeared in the session with a raw score that is equal to or less than the candidate is multiplied by 100 and the outcome that come is divided by the total number of the candidates appeared in the session.
Now that the result is out, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is set to start the counselling procedure and the students will be allotted seats according to their percentile in JEE Main 202 examination.
