JNU Violence :Students suspicious after ‘drone’ spotted near Sabarmati hostel

After the dastard attack on students and teachers of Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) by armed miscreants on Sunday evening, the JNU Teachers’ Association(JNUTA) and Students’ Union(JNUSU) have given a call for a Public Meeting Against Violence and in Defense of Public Education.

Alumni of JNU gave a call, earlier in the day, to march in solidarity with students of JNU. Scores of former students including former Students’ Union President and CPI(M) leaders Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechury, marched from Ber Sarai to JNU main gate.

4:40 pm: Sitaram Yechury, General Secretary CPI(M) says, “I’m here to show solidarity with JNU teachers and students. I condemn the #JNUViolence. If the Vice-Chancellor thinks that he can silence students, it will not happen. We demand the removal of VC as well as  identification of those who attacked students and nonetheless complete roll back of fee hike.

4:50 pm: Alumni have been let inside the campus, soon to address Public meeting organised by JNUSU and JNUTA.

4:55 pm: CPI General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP D Raja, CPI-ML(Liberation) leader Kavita Krishnan, Congress leader Sharmishtha Mukherjee, former Students’ Union Presidents Sitaram Yechury, Prakash Karat, Kanhaiya Kumar, Swaraj India leader Yogendra Yadav, Social Activist Bezwada Wilson and others to address the public in a short while.

4:58 pm: Supreme Court Bar Association has passed a resolution condemning the violence unleashed on JNU students. The resolution has also condemned the inaction of Delhi Police in the matter.

5:10 pm: Former JNUSU President and CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury is address the public meeting organised by JNUSU and JNUTA
“Against Violence and in Defense of Public Education.”

5:12 pm: Crime Branch of Delhi Police appeals to people at large to share video clips, any other information related to JNU violence.

6:10 pm: A drone camera has been spotted near Sabarmati hostel T-point of JNU.
