Following the war of words between the Shiv Sena and actor Kangana Ranaut and the actor’s offensive against Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, a police complaint has been registered against the actor for use of foul language in the statements she made against Thackeray. In response to the demolition of her office by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), she tweeted a video in which she addressed Thackeray as “tu”(you).
Ranaut visited the partly-demolished office on Thursday and reports said she could be seen crying when she left the premises. The actor and Shiv Sena leaders have been exchanging barbs ever since Ranaut started criticising the Mumbai Police and its handling of the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. She claimed that the Mumbai city does not feel safe anymore. The conflict took another turn when Ranaut said that Mumbai now feels like Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to which Shiv Sena leaders asked her to leave the city if she didn’t feel safe in it. She was later on provided Y+ security by the Home Ministry. The BMC had already issued a notice on her property in Bandra West for illegal construction. But the actor saw vendetta in the BMC notice. The demolition which was to happen yesterday was stayed by the Bombay HC though BMC workers had smashed some parts of the office. In a fit of rage, Ranaut tweeted calling BMC workers Babur’s army.
Following the destruction of some parts of the office and upon her return to Mumbai from Manali, she shared a video on Twitter. In this clip, she said,
“Uddhav Thackeray, what do you think? That you colluded along with the film mafia demolished my home and took revenge on me? My home was demolished today, your arrogance will crumble tomorrow.”
She also said CM Thackeray’s ego will be destroyed, just like her office.
