A biopic on Indian comedian Kapil Sharma has been announced on Friday, January 14. The film will be titled Funkaar and to be helmed by Fukrey director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba.

The news was announced by Bollywood’s trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Twitter. The biopic will be bankrolled by Mahaveer Jain under Lyca Productions and Subaskaran. According to media reports, Mahaveer Jain said that the makers are proud to present the untold story of comedy superstar Kapil Sharma as billions of people get their daily dose of dopamine due to the comedian.

Mirghdeep Singh Lamba said that he is looking forward to bringing the story of India’s most beloved comedian to the audience.

Mahaveer Jain along with Lyca Productions has earlier collaborated with Anand L Rai for Jahnvi Kapoor starrer Good Luck Jerry, Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Mann Bairagi, and Akshay Kumar for Ram Setu.
