In a heinous incident, a 24-year-old former national Kho-Kho player was strangled to death in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district on Friday. Her body has been recovered from the middle of railway sleepers near Bijnor railway station.
Former national-level Kho-Kho player strangled to death in Bijnor:
Reportedly, the deceased body was found in a horrifying condition. Her face was badly bruised, clothes pulled down, a broken tooth, and there were strangulation marks on the neck. The victim’s family has alleged that she had been raped and murdered.
According to media reports, the victim had left her home on Friday morning to submit a biodata in a school. Her family turned suspicious when she did not return home till late on Friday and her phone was switched off. The victim’s body was spotted by her neighbour in a semiconscious state. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctor declared her dead.
An FIR has been filed against the crime and the investigation is underway. The woman has been identified as a Dalit woman who had represented two states in North India at national-level events in the past 5 years. As per the victim’s sister she was about to get married in November.
Mumbai Rape Case:
Just a day ago, a brutal incident came to the light on Friday where a 34-year-old woman was raped and assaulted in Mumbai’s Sakinaki area. The accused assaulted the victim with an iron rod and thrashed her genitals. The victim was put on a ventilator and succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.
The police have nabbed the 40-year-old accused and the Bandra court has sent him to custody till September 21.
In another horrifying incident, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man in Maharashtra’s Ulhasnagar town on Friday. The 35-year-old accused threatened the girl with a hammer and raped her. Police arrested him on Sunday.
