The Queen of Melody, Lata Mangeshkar has turned 92-years-old on Tuesday, September 28. Fondly known as Lata Didi, she has ruled the Indian Music Industry for several decades.
The singer saw various ups and downs in her career but always managed to woo everyone with her amazing voice.
Lata Mangeshkar made her singing debut at a very young age but it was the superhit song Aayega Aanewala, which made her the singing icon of Bollywood. In 1949, Mahal film was released in which there was a song named Aaayega Aanewala that was crooned by Lata Mangeshkar. The film starred Madhubala and Ashok Kumar in the lead role. The film was directed by Kamal Amrohi.
In an interview, Lata Mangeshkar also revealed that it is her forever favourite song and she also revealed the behind-the-scenes story of that song. She said that to record this song, she had to walk a lot as the music director wanted the song to begin with someone singing from a little far then coming close to the mic. She further said that thus to record this song I had to walk from one point to another for 20-25 times.
She also said at that time she used to take a lot of takes as the technology was not that good at that time, and for this song, she took more than 28 takes. After that, she talked about singing and walking together, and said that singing while walking is a big task, and in doing that she faced her fear and dealt with it.
Lata Mangeshkar sang several songs including Lag Jaa Gale, Tere Bina Jiya Jaaye a, Tune O Rangeele, among others. And, all these songs of Lata Didi still live in people’s hearts rent-free.
