Actor Madhuri Dixit said ‘Parinda’ lived up to its tagline of being the most powerful film ever made, as the critically acclaimed feature clocked 31 years on Tuesday.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Dixit shared the movie’s poster to mark the 31st anniversary of the Vidhu Vinod Chopra directorial crime-drama that also featured Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, and Nana Patekar.
Dixit, who played the role of Paro in the film said, the experience was thrilling.The tagline of the film appropriately justifies it as the most powerful films ever made in the film industry.
The actor also said that she did a death scene for the first time in Parinda.The film is special as it has wonderful memories with the amazing cast and crew, Dixit concluded in her post.

The crime drama is touted as one of the best gangster films of the nineties cinema. The film bagged two National Film Awards, one for best supporting actor won by Nana Patekar and another one for best editing which went to Renu Saluja.
Parinda had made it to Academy Awards as the nominations under best international feature film category, however, much to disappointment, it did not win any award.
Parinda tells the story of two orphaned brothers played by Kapoor and Shroff, who eventually caught on different sides of a gang war escalated by a don played by Patekar. Dixit plays the role of Kapoor’s wife in the film.
In Dixit’s filmography, Parinda makes a significant mention that continued her dream run at the box office after ‘Tezaab’ and ‘Ram Lakhan’.
In 2015, Chopra made his Hollywood debut with the remake of Parinda and titled it ‘Broken Horses’. It stars Chris Marquette, Anton Yelchin and Vincent D’Onofrio.
