Instagram users are going gaga over the reel trend that was introduced by the platform in 2020. In several cases, content creators and influencers go beyond the extent of making videos and land themselves in trouble.
Madhya Pradesh girl booked for dancing on zebra crossing:
Recently, MTV Roadies Revolution contestant, Shreya Kalra has been booked for filming a dance video on the zebra crossing when the light turns red. Reportedly, police have booked her for public nuisance and served her notice for violating traffic rules.
Shreya shared the video on her Instagram profile and captioned it as, “please do not break the rules – red sign means you have to stop at the signal not because I’m dancing and wear your masks guys.”
In the video, Shreya can be seen sipping sitting in a cafe. She then leaves the cafe and starts dancing on the zebra crossing when the light turns red. Passerby can be seen looking at her perplexed. Two men on a bike can also be spotted without wearing helmets and masks. She performed on the song Woman by Doja Cat.
The video went viral and divided social media into two groups. While a section of social media users applauded her confidence, some of them bashed her and called her action a mere stunt to gain followers on Instagram.
Followed by the incident, state home minister Narottam Mishra said in a tweet that he has directed police officers to take against Kalra under the Motor Vehicles Act.
