A video of an elderly man breaking into tears for not being able to make ends meet through a small food joint he runs has gone viral on social media. The video was originally shared by Gaurav Wasan on his Instagram account. In the video, the 80-year-old man Kanta Prasad, who runs the Baba Ka Dhaba with his wife in Malviya Nagar is seen crying as he is not able to earn sell enough food to run his household through the small joint he opened in 1988.
In the video, Prasad’s wife can be seen cooking chapatis. Prasad said that they are not able to sell even half kg of dal and 750 grams of rice in the entire day. The food joint sells dal, rice, chawal, paranthas and tea at a very reasonable price. When Wasan asked the elderly man how much he is able to earn in a day, he took out five notes of Rs 10 notes from the drawer.
The video broke many hearts and went viral on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with many people coming forward to help the elderly couple. Celebrities like Sonam Kapoor and R Ashwin also asked for details to be able to help the owners of the small food joint.
Apart from this, AAP MLA Somnath Bharti drove to the dhaba and helped the elderly couple. Bharti shared the development on his Twitter and shared a picture of the couple smiling. Actor Raveena Tandon also came up with an enticing offer and asked people to visit the joint and share the pictures tagging her. She promised she will retweet them with a sweet message from her side.
