In desi households, you must have heard husbands telling their partners that they can buy the Taj Mahal for them (sarcastically) to prove their love and honesty. But one such incident has happened for real in Madhya Pradesh. Just like Shah Jahan built this stunning monument as a symbol of love for his wife, a man from the MP’s Burhanpur district has also constructed an exact replica of the Taj Mahal for his spouse.
A man named, Anand Choose said that he has been mesmerized by the beauty of the Taj Mahal and has always wondered why the Taj Mahal was not in-built in his hometown, which is where Shah Jahan’s spouse Mumtaz had died. He said that he has always dreamt of building the Taj Mahal in his city. He added that initially Taj Mahal was supposed to be constructed at Tapti river but was later built in Agra.
The engineer who build this stunning house said that he faced several challenges while constructing the residence. He further added that he spent a lot of time analyzing and researching the actual Taj Mahal. For the sculpting within the home, he enlisted the assistance of artisans from West Bengal and Indore.
The 4-bedroom lavish residence which is an exact replica of the Taj Mahal took three years to build. Apart from this, it has a big hall, meditation room, and a library. The house’s dome stands 29 feet tall. It has Taj Mahal-style towers on the perimeters, Rajasthani ‘Makrana’ flooring, and furnishings created by Mumbai craftsmen.
To capture the essence of the actual Taj Mahal, the lighting both inside and outside the house is done in such a way that the residence illuminates in the evening just like the real Taj Mahal.
