Around one lakh people and not seven million as claimed by US President Donald Trump, are expected to line up during the 22-km roadshow from the Ahmedabad airport, Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra confirmed today.
“Nearly 1 lakh people expected to line up along 22-km route of roadshow by PM Modi and US President Donald Trump,” Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra said.
Trump had earlier said in a video, “7 million (70 lakh) people will be there on the roadshow route”.
Interestingly, the total population of Ahmedabad is estimated to be around 70 to 80 lakh.
“MaruAmdavad says #NamasteTrump #IndiaRoadShow is getting bigger & bigger. More than 1 lakh participants already confirmed for the 22 km roadshow. Great opportunity for #Ahmedabad to present Indian Culture to the World. Keep following @AmdavadAMC for more details,” he said in a tweet on February 16.

Trump will visit the famous Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad. After that, the two leaders will inaugurate a new cricket stadium in Motera.
He will then address a crowd at the stadium with the event called ‘Kem Chho Mr President’, meaning How are you Mr President, in sync with the ‘Howdy Modi’ event in Houston, Texas when PM Modi visited the US.
Trump and First Lady, Melania Trump will be landing at Ahmedabad airport in the afternoon and will be given a guard of honour.
