Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets in the last T20I of the series at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Monday to complete a 3-0 whitewash.
Chasing the target of 125 runs, Pakistan were cruising at 117-2, with just 7 needed in the last 6 deliveries of the game.
A dot ball and 2 back-to-back wickets have made the match more interesting. Iftikhar Ahmed’s 6 calmed the nerves and kept Pakistan on top but then he got caught the very next ball and it came down to Pakistan needing 2 runs at the final ball of the game. The left-handed allrounder Mohammad Nawaz hit a 4 off the final ball to seal the T20I series with 3-0.
Earlier, Bangladesh, after winning the toss, set a 125-run target. Bangladesh opener Mohammad Naim was the top-scored with 47 off 50 balls while Shamim Hossain and Afif Hossain added 22 and 20 runs respectively.
Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah Riyad (3-10) claimed three wickets in the final over. Haider Ali top-scored with 45 off 38 balls. Mohammad Wasim (2-15) and Usman Qadir (2-35) earlier claimed 2 wickets each for Pakistan.
Pakistan won the first two matches by four wickets and eight wickets respectively.
Pakistan took the field with as many as 4 changes former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, Iftikhar Ahmed, Usman Qadir and Shahnawaz Dahani. Fakhar Zaman, Shoaib Malik, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi were rested for the day.
Hosts Bangladesh made three changes with Shamim Hossain, Shahidul Islam and Nasum Ahmed coming in for Saif Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam.
