In another horrific news in Pakistan, an angry mob lynched a Sri Lankan man to death and burned his dead body in public allegedly over blasphemy allegations.
As per reports majority of the mob were from an Islamist party, who attacked a factory in Pakistan’s Punjab province and went on to lynch a Sri Lankan man and then burnt his body after killing him to death.\
Sri Lankan national Priyantha Kumara, who was approx 40-years-old, was working as general manager of a factory in Sialkot, where the workers of other private factories attack Sri Lankan man and burnt his body in public after killing him.
However, Pakistan PM Imran Khan condemned this horrific attack and said ‘a day of shame’ for Pakistan. Imran Khan assured that investigation is going on and no one will be spared from this horrific incident. “I am overseeing the investigations & let there be no mistake all those responsible will be punished with the full severity of the law. Arrests are in progress,” added Pakistani PM Imran Khan.
According to local reports, Priyantha Kumara the Sri Lankan national tore up a poster of a hardline Islamist party, Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) in which Quranic verses were inscribed and then threw it in the dustbin.
After this incident of alleged blasphemy, hundreds of people gathered outside the factory and dragged the Sri Lankan to the road and started torturing him, when Kumara succumbed to death by his wounds, they burnt him publically.
Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar termed this as a very tragic incident and assured the proper action against those who were there. “Every aspect of the incident should be investigated and a report should be submitted. Action should be taken against those who take the law into their own hands,” said Punjab CM.
