The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday held a meeting with the cricketers and organized a screening of the 2017 Champions Trophy final match – In which Pakistan had handed India a huge defeat – to motivate the Pakistani cricketers ahead of India vs Pakistan clash in Dubai.
The meeting was called to discuss the matters related to the blockbuster contest of the T20 World Cup between India and Pakistan and boost the confidence of cricketers ahead of the clash between the cricketing world’s biggest rivals. Not only match clips but the interviews of the winning team players were also shown to cricketers to encourage them to strive for victory.
Former Australian opener and Pakistan batting coach Matthew Hayden advised the team to play their best level game against in the high-voltage clash. Pakistan Cricket Team head coach Saqlain Mushtaq also motivated and reminded the team that Pakistan are capable of defeating India like old times.
India and Pakistan are set to play against each other on Sunday, October 24. This will be the 13th time India will be facing arch-rivals Pakistan in a World Cup match and have never lost against Men in Green, winning 12 of 12 matches.
Meanwhile, India seems to have the most balanced squad in T20 World Cup 2021, in their both warm-up matches against England and Australia, India dominated the opposition with bat and ball both. On the other hand, Pakistan won their match against West Indies but lost against a week side of South Africa.
Indian Cricket Team have a long due for any ICC trophy, previously they won in was way back in 2013, when former captain MS Dhoni-led Indian side went on to win 2013 Champions Trophy. Since then, India have not been able to win any major trophy, despite of having a world class squad. This time also India will be eyeing to end their title drought and win the T20 World Cup 2021.
