Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday prayed for the good health and speedy recovery for his predecessor Manmohan Singh who was admitted to the AIIMS in Delhi last evening over the complaints of weakness and fever.
Wishing him a speedy recovery, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a tweet that he prays for the good health and speedy recovery of Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Earlier in the morning, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had visited the AIIMS to enquire about Manmohan Singh’s health from the doctors treating him. He also met the former Prime Minister.
In a tweet, the Health Minister wished him a speedy recovery and said he met former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at AIIMS, New Delhi and enquired about his health. Singh’s condition is stable, a doctor at the hospital said.
The 89-year-old former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was admitted to a private ward of the cardioneuro centre of the Delhi AIIMS on Wednesday and is under the care of a team of cardiologists led by Dr. Nitish Naik, the doctor said.
Dr. Singh had a fever on Monday and had recovered, but turned weak and was on fluids.
Earlier this year in April, Dr Singh had been admitted to the AIIMS after he tested Covid positive during the second wave and recovered completely within 10 days. He has also received his both doses of Covid vaccine.
Dr. Manmohan Singh has served 10 years as the Prime Minister of India between 20004 and 2014. He was the 13th Prime Minster of the country and the first Prime Minister who belonged to the Sikh community. Indian economist and academician turned politician has also served as the Finance Minister of India between 1991 and 1996.
