Quant Media: highlighting struggles of villages in Jharkhand

Quaint Media Private Limited has completed its six years. During these six years, the company has done a lot of work in terms of digital and social media presence. The company’s primary focus since inception has been to connect digital outreach and hyper local activity in rural areas. The company first started for this from Bihar. When Live Bihar Hyper Local Platform was launched in 2016. It was linked to every district of Bihar and today it has become the need of the people there.

Apart from this, this company operating from Sector 132 of Noida had already made its national presence through Live India and Live News. The company launched its first digital media platform Live India in 2015 itself. Which was inaugurated by the then Union Ministers Ram Vilas Paswan and Najma Heptulla. Live Bihar was the premium product of the company which was conceived by the company’s director and managing editor Basant Jha.

Basant Jha was a well-known journalist of the country and he started his journalism career in the year 2000 with Dainik Jagran News Paper. He traveled from sub-editor to state bureau chief in Dainik Jagran by staying in Bihar and Jharkhand. Where he traveled from village to village in Bihar and Jharkhand. During this time he understood the social and political fabric of Bihar closely. He saw that a large number of people have migrated from Bihar and they have great urge to know about the smallest information of their home, family, area and district.

He decided at the same time that he has to do something keeping this need of the people in focus.

By the way, after a long journey of 10 years with Dainik Jagran, he started his journey as an editor in Dainik Bhaskar. During this he played an important role in the launching of Dainik Bhaskar in Jharkhand. After working in several key positions at Dainik Bhaskar for four years, he joined Live India News Channel as Managing Editor in 2014 and then launched the digital platform under the banner of Quant Media in 2015.

Live Bihar is a hyper local digital platform operating from the capital Patna. It majorly delivers the smallest news from the political field to the social sector among its readers. From farm to barn and from hi-tech world to women’s special and Bihari cuisine. Live Bihar through its news breaks all those myths which claim that Bihar and people of Bihar are behind.

Live Bihar is working with constant commitment to deliver the right news at the right time to keep the trust among the audience. Correspondents were restored from district to sub-division and from block to panchayat. A new team of its own was created, which started contributing significantly in taking the smallest news to the corridors of power.

This is the reason that the leaders of the opposition parties from the ruling party to the leaders of the opposition party also follow the live Bihar news and share the news link from time to time on their Facebook and Twitter handles. Sometimes Nitish Kumar, sometimes Tejashwi Yadav, sometimes Tej Pratap and sometimes Sushil Modi, all these people have appreciated the works of Live Bihar. Saroj Jha, Regional Director of the World Bank, called it a new communication revolution for Bihar.

Basant Jha, Director and Managing Editor of the company says – Six years ago when Digital India was being launched in India, we had a dream of connecting with villages and connecting people with their roots. Today, after six years, it doesn’t hurt to say that my team and I are moving towards fulfilling this dream. Our slogan was ‘Gaaw-Gaaw, shahar-shahar’, we are on track to achieve this.

It is one of the largest digital platform of Bihar today. It has more than twelve lakh direct fan followers and crores of readers on Facebook. In the studio of Live Bihar, more than one celebrity has come including Kisani Aunty Rajkumari Devi, Sushil Modi, Neeraj Kumar, Bhai Virendra, Danish Rizwan, Bhairav Lal Das, Dipankar Bhattacharya, Maithili Thakur, Deepak Thakur.

In Jharkhand, our aim is to introduce the whole world to the life style and life philosophy of the natives, tribals here. The lifestyle of the tribals here is very difficult. Of course there will be difficulties when we join but we hope that we will be able to move through these difficulties soon.
