Rahul Gandhi attacks PM Modi over Sino-India standoff says Chinese know PM Modi compromises India’s interests

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said China knows that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will compromise the country’s interests and also alleged that democracy in India is dead. Attacking on PM Modi over the Sino-India border standoff, he charged him with being scared of the eastern neighbour.

Addressing students at VOC College in Tamil Nadu’s Thoothukudi he said that democracy doesn’t die with a bang, it dies slowly. Speaking on the democracy in India, Gandhi said there has been a systematic attack on elected institutions and the free press over the past six years. He further accused the RSS of destroying the institutional balance.

Gandhi said that the RSS has disturbed and destroyed the institutional balance in the country. He said India is a union of states when it destroys the institutional balance, the power balance is automatically destroyed.

Gandhi said the Chinese first tested the idea in Dokhlam in 2017 to see how would India react and noticed that India did not react. Later, they carried out the idea again in Ladakh and will be again in Arunachal Pradesh.

Talking on the border standoff, Gandhi said PM Modi’s first reaction to the Chinese incursions was that nobody has come into India which indicated Chinese that the Prime Minister of India is scared of them since then the Chinese have negotiated on that principle.

Gnadhi also said mark his words, Depsang, which is the most important land, is not going to come back under the Modi government. Narendra Modi will not get that land back. He will pretend everything is sorted out, but India is going to lose that territory. He also alleged that giving such a message to the Chinese was very dangerous to the future of the country because the Chinese are not going to stop with Ladakh.

Gandhi said that the government under the Congress has always dealt with the Chinese without any fear and hesitation. Even in 2013 when the Chinese entered India, the Congress government took action and forced them to compromise. The Chinese have now understood the Prime Minister doesn’t have the courage and knows the Prime Minister is going to compromise.
