Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi brewed a new controversy on Monday while he referred terrorist group Jaish-e- Mohammad’s head Masood Azhar as ‘Masood Azhar Ji’ during his speech.

A video has gone viral on social media in which Rahul Gandhi can be seen saying that it was National Security Adviser Ajit Doval who was present when Masood Azhar was being sent back to Kandahar.

After his speech opposition party, BJP hit back to him by saying “Rahul loves terrorists.”

Addressing a meeting of Congress workers, Gandhi attacked the BJP, saying, “These people with 56-inch chest, you would recall, in their previous government, the current National Security Advisor Ajit Doval went in an aircraft with ‘Masood Azhar Ji’ and handed over Masood Azhar there in Kandahar.”

Several BJP leaders have lashed out at Rahul Gandhi. Smriti Irani twitted and said that Rahul Gandhi and Pakistan have one thing in common – ‘their love for terrorists’.

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said earlier Digvijay Singh had referred to Osama Bin Laden as ‘Osama Ji’ and terrorist Hafiz Saeed as ‘Hafiz Saeed Sahab’.

“Come on Rahul Gandhi Ji! Earlier it were the likes of Digvijay Ji who called ‘Osama Ji’ and ‘Hafiz Saeed Sahab’. Now you are saying ‘Masood Azhar Ji’. What is happening to Congress Party?” Ravi Shankar Prasad tweeted.

Even BJP’s Twitter handle posted a video of Rahul Gandhi referring to the terrorist as ‘Masood Azhar Ji’.
