RCB vs CSK Preview: Kohli and Co. to face Dhoni’s CSK in clash of titans

Royal Challengers Bangalore didn’t get the start they wanted in the UAE leg of IPL 2021. On the other hand MS Dhoni’s Chenai Super Kings will be high on confidence when they face RCB today at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, as CSK defeated their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians on Sunday. This will be last season of Virat Kohli as a captain of RCB. Kohli and co. would want to win against CSK, as their wait for first title still awaits. Sharjah is a small ground, similar to RCB’s Chinnasway in Bangalore given that, RCB might have a little advantage over CSK.

Before the match starts, let’s have a look at both teams and their predicted XI, players to watch-out for, head-to-head record

Royal Challengers Bangalore

After the departure of Kane Richardson and Jhye Richardson RCB might have a bit to think about their bowling, but still they have got a strong bowling line-up of Md. Siraj, Yuzi Chahal, Kyle Jamieson, Harshal Patel and Navdeep Saini. The kind of batting order RCB have, any team should fear, which consists of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Devdutt Paddikal, AB de-Viliers. The only thing RCB have to think about is the forms of their key players because in the game against KKR all their batters flopped.

Predicted XI: Virat Kohli (c), Devdutt Padikkal, Virat Kohli (c), Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers (wk), Mohammed Azharuddeen, Tim David, Kyle Jamieson, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini.

Chennai Super Kings: After their win against Mumbai Indians, CSK would look to reclaim the top spot on points table. The bowling department of CSK is however sorted, but their man problem is their batting. In the whole line-up of their batting order not a single batsman is consistent performer except young Ruturaj Gaikwad. With Sam Curran back in team veteran Bravo might have to sit on the bench.

Predicted XI: Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (c&wk), Sam Curran, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Josh Hazlewood

Head-to-head:

CSK has won 17 matches out of 26 matches played between them, RCB have won only 9 times against majestic CSK.

Players to watch-out for:

Virat Kohli: The form of skipper has not been that great in recent times, but he is Virat Kohli, so it’ll be interesting to see if hemanage to get some runs on his name.

Deepak Chahar: The trump card of Dhoni’s army, Deepak Chahar is one of main bowlers of Dhoni led side and is lethal in powerplay overs.
