Badminton player Saina Nehwal showered praises on Parineeti Chopra, who will be seen playing the lead role in her biopic titled Saina.
Sharing the new posters from the biopic, the badminton player wrote, Wowww… Mini Saina. Love the look. Earlier, she had shared another poster featuring Parineeti and she captioned it as, I wish you all the very best my sweet Saina. Great poster Parineeti Chopra.
Recently, one of the posters from Saina made headlines not for good reasons. Netizens trolled the posters saying that the graphic poster displays movement of a hand which looks more like a tennis serve and not badminton.
Reacting on it, the film’s director Amol Gupte said that there has been some unnecessary speculation on digital media. Taking to his Facebook handle, he described the poster as a high concept poster. He wrote, Has to be unfortunately explained in detail to a quick reacting, impatient world… Not stopping to think before rubbishing anything! Socho!
On Thursday, the makers of the film dropped the first teaser, sharing glimpses of the journey of the player for one and half minutes. The teaser underlined the discrimination between boys and girls in most Indian households, and showed Parineeti defying the old mindset and entering the badminton court and prepping for a match.
