Bihar BJP chief Sanjay Jaiswal, who is also a doctor, said even the basic facilities in Bihar have been collapsed. Detailing the on ground situation in Bihar, he said that the situation reached such a level that his doctor friends are not even picking up the phone calls. The doctor friends have become helpless in the present situation as they have lost so many people in the second wave.
In a Facebook post in Hindi, jaiswal said he has lost many known persons in the second wave.
Not only the states like UP, Bihar and Delhi but also the whole health infrastructure of the country is struggling to deal with the growing number of Covid-19 cases amid a worsening second wave of Coronavirus.
In Bihar, the Covid positive tally has been increased to 30%. Jaiswal said that the best treatment to protect from Covid is to create social distancing and wear masks but the people are not yet understanding the danger of this deadly virus and are roaming in the markets without mask.
Bihar is among the 11 states that account for 78.18 per cent of India’s total active cases, according to the Union Health Ministry data. The number of active cases now stand near one lakh, nearly 50 times more than the figures in the beginning of the month when the active caseload was less than 2,000.
In the long note, Jaiswal also narrates that hospitals in his parliamentary constituency of Champaran are stretched despite new arrangements being made for beds and oxygen. Now, the facility has reached the stage of closure as the positivity rate reached up to 30% in the state.
Meanwhile, the RJD national spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari reacted sharply to Jaiswal’s remarks and asked where was his Covid knowledge when he and other BJP leaders campaigned for elections in West Bengal and held massive meetings, rallies and roadshows. Was Kovid’s protocol not broken during the election campaign?
He also asked that the BJP is in power both at the state and at the Center then why did they not learn from the first wave of Corona and did not develop health-related infrastructure to fight Covid.
