The BJP MP from South Bangalore on Thursday promised that the BJP will have its first ever chief minister in West Bengal on May 3. He also said the party will win more than 200 seats in the upcoming assembly elections.
Talking about the vote share of BJP in West Bengal and Kerala, Surya said this is the legacy of the communists which Mamata Banerjee has carried forward but there will be no more bloodshed and political murder politics in West Bengal because BJP will have its chief minister.
The West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh said the party will win more than 200 seats for which the BJP had begun preparing for the elections five years ago, when Banerjee had retained power with a massive mandate.
Explaining about the party’s preparations in Bengal, Surya said, the BJP have preceded phase-wise and all saw results in the Lok Sabha elections. He said his party is moving ahead with the mantra of ’19 mein half, 21 mein saaf’ (half seats in 2019, clean sweep in 2021.
Talking about the issues raised by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the Enforcement Directorate, the Surya said, those who have done nothing wrong have nothing to hide. He said that the BJP and its workers are very much confident about the NDA’s better performance in the state.
Surya is also very sure about the better performances in Tamul Nadu polls and claimed that Chinnamma’s blessing on the AIDMK will help the NDA in Tamil Nadu and the AIDMK will repeat its performance as last time.
Bengal will go to polls between March 27 and April 29 for the 294 assembly seats. In the upcoming assembly polls, the state is likely to witness a triangular contest with Trinamool Congress, Congress-Left alliance and the BJP in the fray. The BJP, which had won 18 of the state’s 42 Lok Sabha seats in 2019, had expanded its footprints in the state, which had been a Trinamool vs Left battlefield for several years.
